Welcome to Picture Yourself… a gallery of visitor portraits related to the Allegory and Illusion: Early Portrait Photography from South Asia exhibition at the Rubin Museum of Art. This website displays visitors’ portraits taken in front of an authentic backdrop from the region, which have been transformed with a special filter custom built for the exhibition, as well as portraits submitted via social media. The website will also contain portraits of a few special celebrity guests, so be on the lookout for those! Together, these images form a gallery of portraits exploring audiences’ creative interpretations of the exhibition’s themes and images. As photos are added, we will curate them into thematic groupings, so check back to see your photograph in new contexts.  Over the course of the exhibition we will change out the backdrop in our in-gallery photo booth.
