The exhibition Allegory & Illusion presents a wide array of objects illustrating the rich tradition of portrait photography across South Asia. Now we are asking you, our visitors, to participate in our exploration of portraiture.
We are seeking your new and vintage photos that you feel relate to the themes explored in the exhibition, including:
Portraits against interesting or imaginative backdrops
Hand-tinted or digitally altered portraits
Portraits that express identity
Portraits that explore illusion
Or any photo that uses portraiture in an unconventional way
Please feel free to write a short description of how you think your photo relates to the exhibition.
*Note: All photos will be reviewed before publishing. Please provide photo credit, if different from your name. We’ll send you an email once your photo has been published.
Co-curator Beth Citron will review the photos submitted to this site, and provide a weekly round-up of trends, creative interpretations, and additional commentary on the themes and images from this exhibition.
